$2 Tuesdays...

August 26th- For the second Tuesday in a row we spent the day at Thanksgiving Point at the Museum of Natural History. Me and the kids went with BreAnne and her kids and our cousin, Kyla and her little boy, Bentley. Keaton's fav part- the wind machine!

The Birthday Boy turns 4!

August 24th- When I told Keaton that his birthday was on Sunday, which meant it was church day he was kinda confused! He said, "My birthday is on church day?! Does that mean that everyone has to wear their church clothes to my party?!" Ha ha. We tried to make his birthday just as fun and special as if it was any other day- except with church in the middle- he woke up to a hallway filled with birthday balloons, he had cinnamon rolls and chocolate milk for breakfast (some of his favorites!), and in the early evening we all went to the park close to our parents houses in West Point and had a little party with close family- grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

My little boy is as cute as ever even if I can't believe that it's been 4 whole years since he joined our family!

Oh, Maddie. :)
Grandma Shauna gave Keaton a big boy bike for his birthday! It was the very last gift he was given and it was all wrapped up in a blanket that Justin and Curtis brought over after all the other presents were open. For some strange reason Keaton was scared to death about whatever he thought was under the blanket! He was so scared that he was holding on to my leg and wouldn't even attempt to uncover his present! So Justin and Curtis uncovered the bike for him and after a minute or so he calmed down and ended up really loving his new bike! And to my surprise he is pretty good at riding it! I thought it would take him some time to get it down since it's so much bigger than his old bike, but he hopped right on and started riding all over the park!

That night, right before Keaton went to bed he came into our room to Justin's side of the bed and told Justin he had a secret to tell him. Then proceeded to whisper into Justin's ear. I laughed so hard (and still sometimes think about it randomly in the middle of the day since and it still makes me smile) when Justin told me after what Keaton said, "My birthday party was AWESOME! And, don't tell mom, but there was a funny joke at my party and I thought there was a monster under the blanket! But, it was just my bike!"

Ha, ha, ha! Oh, how we love this 4 year old boy of ours! Happy Birthday Keaton!

Celebrating 6.

August 22nd- We couldn't have asked for a better getaway for our 6th anniversary. My mom took the kids overnight and Justin and I headed to Provo so that we could spend some much needed time together- just the two of us- in one of our favorite places, BYU campus.
We went to the Hinckley Alumni building and saw Justin's winning race car from his capstone project. (Which brought back a lot of memories from our last year in Orem and at BYU for both of us.)

We found this little guy roaming around campus!

Justin had to get a picture next to the building he spent more time in his last couple years at school than he did at home!
And here are a couple of blurry front camera pictures from my phone that we took while waiting to get some dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory. After dinner we walked around the mall for a little bit, made a quick stop at Miryka's new apartment, went to the movies and saw the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movie, and then we went to our hotel for the night. It was amazing being able to sleep in in the morning for as long as we wanted! On Saturday we went shopping at Toys R' Us to find the perfect gift for Keaton's 4th birthday (Lincoln Logs!) and then we made our way to Park City to spend the rest of our afternoon.

The Golden Spike Rodeo!

August 21st- Thanks to BreAnne, Adam, and kids for inviting us to join in on a super fun night! We love the Rodeo!

Selfies.

August 20th- I got a much needed haircut and just for fun got my hair colored (a little darker with just barely a hint of purple! Although you can't really tell in these pictures?) My mom watched the kids and I enjoyed my pamper time. I've felt pretty unsure of whether or not I really love my new cut and color, but I think it's growing on me.

Me, Marianne, and the kids- a day out.

August 19th- My wonderful friend Marianne was in town almost the whole month of August and I was so happy we were able to make plans to get together for a day and catch up while we let the kiddos play. We took the kids to the new Museum of Natural Curiousity at Thanksgiving Point on $2 Tuesday. It was a BUSY day to be there, but in the end it was completely worth it and we all had a blast together! Thanks for playing Marianne, Capri, and baby Kate! (These are the only pictures I took, but Marianne had her nice camera and was able to snap a few more and said she would email them to me!)
