My babies. (And a KEATON update!)

March 13th-
Keaton had his HALF BIRTHDAY a few weeks ago and ever since I have been wanting to do an update all about him since he is now 3 1/2 years old!!! Keaton's very most favorite things lately are coloring, singing, reading books, and playing with his dad. Keaton colors for hours on end every single day. He has learned how to draw stick figures of people and loves to draw pictures of our family. He knows ALL the words to almost EVERY single Frozen song and loves to sing and dance all around the house. Every night Keaton loves it when we read the children's Book of Mormon stories together. And every day Keaton looks forward to Justin coming home so that they can play something together. He doesn't really care what they play, as long as dad is playing with him. Keaton is a picky eater! It is a challenge every day to get him to eat 3 meals. (And sadly, most days I really do feel like I have failed.) Keaton loves watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Team Umizoomi, and his new favorite lately has been WallyKazam! Keaton is such a smart boy and in addition to spelling his name he can also spell "mom" and "dad." He can also write quite a few letters all by himself- C, E, H, I, J, L, O, S, and U! Keaton is now a Sunbeam and LOVES being in primary. He is so sweet when he gives prayers at night and at meal time and he is so thoughtful about the kinds of things that he prays for- whether it is for daddy to come home safe from work, for mommy to be patient and happy, (Yes, he really prays for that and I'm grateful!) or even if he is praying that he can get something that he wants from the store, or to be able to do something he normally doesn't get to do. Keaton is 100% potty trained now! NO ACCIDENTS EVER! We even returned a whole pack of pull-ups that we didn't need anymore! WAHOO!!! Keaton still takes about a 2 hour nap every day and goes to bed at night at about 8 pm and then wakes up between 6:30 and 7:30 am. Keaton is the BEST big brother! He loves Aisley so much and is always talking to and playing with her. He can always calm her down when she is sad or upset. Keaton is a good boy. He is sooo much like his daddy and I love watching the two of them together. We are so happy to have this 3 1/2 year old in our family!
(I didn't bring Keaton's little "owl blanket"- both the kids have identical small minky/silky blankets from Grandma Patsy and they both LOVE them- with us this day and so when Keaton asked for it I told him he could use Aisley's instead if he wanted to. He said okay and was asleep within a couple of minutes!)

A happy HALF birthday to our big boy!

I can't believe this little guy is 2 1/2! I'm continuously mourning the loss of my baby boy, BUT I sure do love the big boy this little man is turning into. :)
(These first 2 pictures are from about a month ago- at the end of January.)
10 of our FAVORITE things about Keaton at 2 1/2 years old:

1. Keaton always has been and still is such a good boy. So happy and well behaved almost all the time.
2. He is such a little chatter box! He not only repeats a good amount of what we say, but he can also carry on quite long conversations about just about anything!
3. Keaton says such funny things, some of our favorites are- "I'm so excited about it!" "Boomchuckalucka!" "Hold you, mom?" (when he is sad or hurt) "Mom kiss it." (When he gets a little ouchie) "Wait, wait, I have a question!" (when he is in trouble and wants us to stop getting upset with him) "Couple minutes?! (when he wants to stay up longer before nap time or bedtime)... The list goes on and on...
4. Keaton loves to read books and sing songs- his favorite song is "I am a Child of God" and he knows all the words from the 1st verse and sings them all by himself! It is the cutest thing ever. :)
5. He is finally starting to eat better! Within the last month he has broadened his horizons and finally likes a large variety of foods. It's amazing and makes me sooo happy! (Kinda a funny thing to make someone happy, but it it has been such a stress reliever for me not to worry so much about Keaton not eating enough.)
6. Keaton loves his daddy and wants to be just like him! Daddy coming home for lunch and from work is Keaton's favorite time of the day.
7. Keaton still sleeps in till 8 or 9 in the morning, but doesn't love nap time lately and really struggles taking a nap and going to bed. He just wants to stay up and play I guess! :)
8. Keaton goes in and out of phases where he likes watching TV or movies, and usually chooses to play instead, but his current favorite show is Super Why! and his favorite movie is The Lorax. (We have only watched The Lorax a gazillion times in the last couple of weeks! :)
9. Keaton is such a smarty pants! He knows almost all his shapes and colors and is getting better and better everyday with his numbers and letters.
10. Keaton loves to say prayers. And he likes to say his prayers all by himself. And although they are usually super short, they are completely sweet and genuine and we love listening to him every time he prays.

(Our silly boy on our night out for Valentine's day- after his haircut. He looks like such a big boy now!)

Keaton's half-birthday and just hangin' out...

Feb. 24th- Keaton turned 6 months old yesterday. I honestly cannot believe that Keaton is already halfway to being 1! Yesterday, at our WIC appointment they weighed and measured Keaton- he now weighs 11 lbs. 10 oz. and is 23 inches long. He's in the 5th percentile for all his measurements for his adjusted age, which makes him 4 months old. We are trying to fatten this little baby up, but about the only thing "fat" about Keaton are his super chunky cheeks! Ha, ha.

I bought Keaton a couple of new binky's in a bigger size. It is really funny to watch him suck on them- they really squish his cheeks. :)

And today. Keaton's many faces...
