that after…
5 eventful, stressful, fun, hard and exciting years of school
2 different apartment complexes, 2 wards, and 2 amazing bishops
26 different, unique, often frustrating, but loveable roommates
1 switch in major
millions of hours of studying
7 different church callings -7 unique learning and growing experiences that immensely blessed my life-
a dozen or more life-altering experiences
more than a few tearful moments
1 wedding –resulting in a permanent roommate- !
tons of money
reading thousands of pages of books (literally!)
making many wonderful and life-long friends,
that all this time could fly by so quickly.
And I could never have done it without the help of my family.
Thank you for loving and supporting me through the last five years -and throughout my whole entire life! - Thank you for always giving me the encouragement needed in hard times. Thank you for always believing that I could and would succeed. Thank you for always loving me for who I am and for who I am always striving to become.
Love always,
Ashley Nicole Norman

The Title Page
The movement of my life never ceases to surprise me. And in this moment I’m encountering one of the biggest surprises that I have ever experienced. As I think of being adorned in my colors, wearing my cap and gown of blue and white, thinking this is the end of a long and hard climb –I am awakened- and now recognize that I have only completed what is to be the title page of my life.
“There’s always gonna be another mountain.” *
And I just finished my first of many.
I can’t help but laughing and thinking what an exciting and harsh reality this is for me. Right now everything in my life makes me feel scared, astonished, happy and many times like I’m about to cry. Emotions rush over me, the most trivial of things seem to have more meaning, and my future is coming into a more clear focus. A caterpillar’s life begins when it becomes a butterfly. This has been my dream.
“Wish you may and wish you might
Don’t you worry, hold on tight
I promise you there will come a day
Butterfly, fly away.” *
My education at Brigham Young University means so very much to me. I am sad to see the end of my time here at school. My experiences have been invaluable, and I have been taught so much that I hope to never forget. And now as I spread my newly formed wings and fly ahead I am grateful for the training I am now equipped with to be a better wife and mother, a stronger sister in Zion, a stalwart example, and always, a daughter of God.
