Some of my TRH family. My last day at Timpanogos Hospital was this last Friday, April 24th. The Timpanogos Outpatient lab has been my home for the last 4 years, almost all of my time while studying at BYU I was also working at Timp. And at the same time both ended- school and my amazing part-time job.
One of my very, very good friends and old roommate Christina and I were able to work together at Timp for a while. It was great! Christina worked as the Courier and also drawing blood in the Outpatient Lab with me!
My boss!
Me and good, old Dr. McGirk. He is one of the pathologists at the hospital.
This is me and Kathy Anderson. Kathy is one of the pre-admit nurses at the hospital and over the past couple of years we have become really quite close. I hope to stay in touch with her for many years to come!
Me and Jessica. Jessica works in registration and is such a fun, nice, and gorgeous girl! I will miss seeing her so much! And well of course I will miss Adela, Megan, Cindy and Monique!!! I worked with all of these ladies down in the Outpatient Lab. I wasn't able to get any pictures of them during my last couple of days, but I will surely miss them so much too! I was a brand new phlebotomist when I first came to Timpanogos 4 years ago and now because of working at TRH and learning from especially Adela, I feel like I am pretty confident in my blood drawing skills, which probably sounds funny to anyone reading this, but it always feels nice to feel like you have a skill that you are good at and excel in. I am going to miss this job so, so much!!!
But all good things eventually come to an end, and life must continue forward. And this past week my life truly did move forward!
On this past Monday I started my new job at Primary Children's Hospital! This is such an exciting, big, and fearful change for me! And while I feel like my love for children makes me perfect for this job, there are also a lot of aspects of being a phlebotomist at Primary Children's that are very different than they were at Timpanogos. This past week I started into this new job full force! I trained everyday, rode trax or drove the long ride/drive to and from Salt Lake City and came home each night tired, hungry and completely stressed out! I feel completely out of my comfort zone and each day I have had to pray so hard that with a lot of practice and some time I will be able to grow to love Primary Children's and feel a part of the family of people that I will work with there. I am very excited for my new job and I know that working at Primary Children's will be a loveable and unforgettable experience for me! I feel truly blessed to be able to leave one amazing job and start right into another.
