a trip to the Y

This past weekend- August 7th-9th- all the boys came to visit us! And so on Saturday afternoon Justin and I decided to take Hunter, Jackson, Ben and Ryker to hike the Y! Believe it or not Justin and I have never hiked the Y before even though we've been here in Provo for school for years! So we decided to get our butts in gear and we all hiked up together. The above picture is at the beginning of our hike, all of us were really pumped and excited to get going and all of us thought that this hike would be a cinch! Little did we know...

After a couple of switchbacks we were ready to take a little break. It was about this time that Jackson asked, "Who's idea was this?!"
When we were about to the half way mark Ryker was disappointed when he discovered that this little Y shaped stick was not his final destination! Ha ha. Just kidding. But we were all teasing that we wished that this stick was the real Y because we were all beat already!
But we finally made it! The beautiful view of our city from the top.
The boys sitting on the Y together showing their bYu spirit.
I stayed at the bottom of the Y, but the boys were all about climbing to the very top of the Y.
Ryker found this red piece on the Y and decided that the U must have played some kind of prank on BYU.
So even though the hike was hard I think we all agreed that it was worth it in the end. I'm not sure if I'd ever do it again, but it wa worth it to hike up once. :) We were all very, very, very thirsty and hungry and so we hurried down at the end (it was much easier to go down than up). Then me and the boys talked Justin into taking us to The Old Spaghetti Factory for a late lunch/ early dinner. It was very yummy.

So these pictures pretty much sum up the rest of our weekend. The kids and Justin played Halo for hours and hours and hours (Justin will tell you it wasn't for that long but its not true)! Justin set up one XBOX in the family room and another one in the bedroom and the boys played against each other from the different rooms. They loved it!

On Sunday we took the boys to church with us and then we had a Sunday dinner of Navajo tacos. They were delicious. And then sadly our weekend with the boys came to an end and we had to meet my parents to get the boys and take them home. Our weekend with the boys went by super fast. Time flies when you are having fun!
