Justin had to work all week, so me and Mad had a lot of "sister" time together, which is just what I needed! We slept in, played with Keaton, watched tons of the Disney channel, movies, played games, XBOX, and Maddie helped me make dinner and fun treats all week long. :) One afternoon, after Justin got off of work, we even all went to the movie theater and saw Brave. (Loved it! And, surprisingly Keaton did too and was such a good boy throughout the entire movie! Yay!)
On Friday afternoon, July 27th, we went to dollar night at the Pawnee Water Park! $3 total for all four of us!
Dollar night is from 6pm-8pm so by the time we were done swimming Keaton was freezing! He loved swimming though. :)
Then on Saturday, July 28th, we spent the whole day in Omaha! Our first and most favorite stop of the day being the Henry Doorly Zoo!
Keaton's favorite was the monkeys!
The aquarium at the zoo was really neat... too bad everyone else at the zoo thought so too- it was packed and therefore really hard to enjoy... Next time we visit the zoo we might try a week day instead of a Saturday. (I'm shootin' for talking Justin into going right before Halloween! Apparently they set the zoo up for the holiday. :) )
Can you see the shark??
We even got to see a fun IMAX 3D movie about sharks. Keaton was a bit crazy throughout the show and we barely made it through, but it was still fun anyway. :)
In the butterfly room. (Keaton did not want to take a picture. Little stink!)
In the desert dome. (Finally we got a little smile out of our crazy boy.)
After the zoo we went to dinner at Chili's (yum!), then went shopping with Justin at Cabela's (where he used a gift card from Christmas to buy a bunch of new fishing stuff and a fishing license) and then Justin was nice enough to take Maddie and I shopping at the mall where Maddie and I got 2 matching shirts! It was such a great day!
On Monday afternoon, July 30th we headed back to Omaha to stay in a hotel for the night since Maddie's flight left at the crack of dawn this morning. :) (Omaha is about 1 hour and 40 minutes away from Columbus.)
Keaton loves his "Man" (Maddie)!
These two are "two of a kind." :)
We made a quick stop on our way to Omaha to take a couple pictures with the Nebraska corn to be able to remember Maddie's visit here with us!
Once we made it to Omaha we had a quick and very yummy dinner at The Texas Roadhouse before hurrying over to the Winter Quarters temple and visitors center before it closed for the night!
The sweetest sister missionary named Sister Graham took us on a tour of the Mormon Trail Center where we had tons of fun learning about the pioneers and their trek to Winter Quarters and then eventually on to Salt Lake City.
Maddie even got to see what it would have been like to pull a handcart! (It is a lot harder than it looks that's for sure!)
After our tour we walked over to the temple grounds and walked around and saw the pioneer monument and cemetery and also took some pictures in front of the beautiful temple. (I can't wait to go back and do a session sometime very soon!)
And here we are on our way to our hotel for the night. Keaton just lovin' playing with Maddie's ipod while chewing on his "Mormon Trail Center" bracelet. :)
It was so incredibly sad to say good-bye to Maddie this morning! We are going to miss having her here so much!
